Home for future change-makers

Falmouth University’s students, researchers and academics harness the power of creativity to make a positive impact on the world around them.
Paradigm-shifting ideas. Life-enhancing technology. Content that transports you. Nothing exciting has ever been achieved without an injection of creativity.
At a time when machines, data, robotics and AI are upending the old industries and changing the way we live, when demographics are shifting and our environment is changing, it’s creativity that will provide solutions to today’s complex challenges across every sector.
As international community of artists, designers, filmmakers, writers, entrepreneurs and much more, Falmouth University’s students, researchers and academics harness the power of creativity to make a positive impact on the world around them.
- Launched in time for the COP26, Animation & Visual Effects graduate Tim Wheatley created The Cycle of Broken Promises, a hard-hitting animated advert for Oxfam which highlights world leaders’ failure to meet their climate promises. Tim’s work exposes the devastating effects that climate change is having on individuals all over the world.
- Sustainable Product Design BA(Hons) graduate Max Ashwell has created a pair of shoes that can be robotically recycled. The concept shoe – RUEI-01 – has been designed to be entirely disassembled by robots. Crucially, the robot can separate the materials with complete accuracy, which isn’t possible with conventional recycling methods.
- The gARdens Project, a Cornish-Chinese collaboration, will see researchers from Falmouth University and Tonji University in Shanghai use Virtual and Augmented Reality to develop immersive experiences that engage new audiences with creative technology and the significance of their local public gardens.
