Behind the Postcard was a collaborative project created in response to Cornwall hosting the 2021 G7 Summit. Screen Cornwall, Creative Kernow, Hall for Cornwall and Wildworks collaborated on the project which sought to show local audiences an authentic, recognisable piece of their Cornwall, and use the opportunity to give global audiences a peek behind the postcard, and demonstrate the creative and cultural talent based here.
Drawing on our unique creative ecology it involved 32 writers, 25 community workshops, more than 300 workshop participants, over 65 performers, over 30 creative professionals and 4 lead delivery organisations working the length and breadth of our rurally dispersed creative cluster from the Isles of Scilly to Bude and the Rame Peninsula.
This film is dedicated to all those working in the creative, cultural and heritage sectors whose livelihoods have been affected by the pandemic.
This film was commissioned by Cornwall Council in partnership with Cabinet Office, Arts Council England and National Heritage Lottery Fund.
