Conversations from the Chair: Misha Curson
“The environmental philosopher Gus Speth said he used to believe the top environmental problems were biodiversity decline, ecosystem collapse and climate change and he believed that with 30 years of good science, we could address those problems. But he was wrong.
The top environmental problems are selfishness, greed and apathy and to address those we need a cultural and spiritual transformation, and scientists don’t know how to do that. To me that perfectly articulates why culture is so intrinsic to the mission of the Eden Project and tackling these problems that Cornwall is facing today. ”
Misha Curson is Senior Curator at the Eden Project, Eden Cornwall and Eden International.
